Aug. 2007: Cask conditioned at the Bon Accord, Glasgow. Copper coloured beer, moderate creamy head. Strong aroma of butterscotch and malts, nice. Malty flavour with some fruity and vinegary notes. Low bitterness. Slightly spicy.

A bitter comemorating 20 years of Ian Rankin's fictitious character Inspector Rebus.
Serving - a pint at the fantastic Bow Bar in Edinburgh.
A - A muddy brown with orange tones when held up to the light, with a 2 finger tan head sitting atop. Lacing is average.
S - Lots of toffee malt and nuts, bready.
T - Some nice hops upfront that are balanced well with the roasted flavours of the malt, ending in a sweet caramel aftertaste, nuts are more apparent as the beer warms
M - Light and creamy
D - A nice well balanced ale, could easily drink a few, and just enough complexity to keep me interested.
