Pint served in imperial pint glass via handpump

A- dark chocolate ruby brown with 2 finger head rentention is excellent and lacing is moderate

S- Light toasted malts, a faint creaminess with some vanilla.

T- once again light toasted malts in the beginning with a with a creamy chocolatey nuttynes finish

M- Light, low carbonation, maybe even bordering on a touch thin and watery.

D- With each mouthful the beer did become more flavoursome, nearly the chocolatelyness of a youngs double chocolate stout, the nice toasted malts and creamy chocolate finish in the taste, makes this one interesting enough for a couple of pints. Light enough also to drink with ease.

Tried by a half pint recently at the John Russell Fox, a JDW in Andover, during the chain's beer festival. This ale is said to be brewed with organic chocolates. Non-sparkler poured.

A: coming in a dark mahogany hue, with beige foam, low carbonation, and tight lacing behind.
S: the peachy or flower scent of hops abounds, skirted by a hay-ish as well as semi-dusty touch; a vanilla-ish note also shows in the chocolatey smell of malts. Very light.
T: like the aroma, it tastes very light, featuring liquidy chocolates, (unknown) hops, black malts... leading towards an enjoyable aftertaste mixed of nuts, licorice, caramel... lightly sour but lubricating in texture, followed by more tannic, berry-skin-ish fruitiness. The finish is semi-dry, bitter-sweet, chocolatey, but never short of a sound sourness of a dark ale.
M&D: mildly spritzy on the motuhfeel, light-bodied, quaffable, but alas slightly thin in the very end. I don't know how to categorise this ale, but this chocolate beer really is NOT BAD AT ALL!
