Served by handpump into imperial pint glass is the July offering on the Caledonian Brewery Guest Ale Calander.
So, is this an ale? is it a lager? im not sure, all the info i can seem to get is its a cask ale made with traditional lager hops ; Strisselpalt and Hallertau Hersbrucker
A- Cloudy deep orangey gold with a creamy 2 finger head that gives good lacing and excellent retention.
S- A faint hoppy bitterness with some light toasted malt.
T- Sweet malts up front with a faint floral note turning into a lagerish hop bitter bite.
M- Light and creamy
D- Odd, didnt like it, the floral sweet pale ale flavours being interrupted by the lager hop bite in the finish didnt balance well at all. Pass
