Good American Brown Ale!! I got three of these from a gift 3 month "beer of the month" subscription. All of the beers have been at least good. and I have only had 3 out of the 12 beers in this group before (I've rated over 2700 beers). This one came in a 12 oz. can and I drank it out of a pint glass with a Moroccan Chicken dinner. Poured a clear (when held to a light) brown color. The reddish highlights show through at all times. Pretty much nothing but reddish light when held to a light. The head was foamy small/medium sized with good retention. Plenty of bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste are fairly prominent for a Brown ale - bready and caramel malt, a touch of nuttiness and a bit of bitterness from the Cascade hops used. Mouthfeel was smooth and moderately rich. This one went down easy. A tasty brew!!!

Dark brown, turns ruby when held to light.

Very minimal head/lacing.

Rye bread in the nose.

Thin mouthfeel.

Stunned to get some strong milk chocolate notes on the back end of this. Coffee notes too.

Way more flavor than the nose prepared me for. If this was a bit more robust it would be a stunner brown; as it is, it's a pleasant surprise.

 

This is my current favorite brewery, with this my current favorite of their beers. Delicious and refreshing for almost any occasion.

APPEARANCE: A muddy brown, ruby bulb to the light. A short lived, half finger of tan head. Good carbonation when rocking the glass. Very slight lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Some chocolate, roasted malt, coffee.
TASTE: Bready, lightly roasted, minor coffee and chocolate. Slight earthiness.
FEEL: Average carbonation, slick up front and dries on the finish, a little thin.
OVERALL: Good intro to brown ales. Not complex.

 

 

 

Pours a deep brown. Highly carbonated on the pour. A very fizzy fast receeding head. A malty roasted flavor. Absolutely no lacing. It should be noted that I am trying this at the very absolute end of this batches enjoy by date.

I poured it into a clear teardrop beer glass, little head. The color is brown, a little murky. The smell is fine but nothing special. The first taste was surprisingly fruity and unlike any brown ale I've had; I wasn't sure I liked it but it got better as it went. It's a Medium bodied beer. Carbination is medium. Nice after taste. I might purchase again.
