Experience the essence of hops, planted deep in soft furrows of wheat and oats. This is where Mosaic, Amarillo, and Azaca hops are magically biotransformed. Taste the tropical flavored bounty.

12 oz. can, best by NOV 26, 2023. Another new one to me from Empyrean Brewing Co out of Nebraska. I see I also added Haze Reaper to the database also, oddly enough... Another pick up as part of a mixed six at the local Binny's.
A: Pours hazy, juicy, murky orange. Big two fingers of thin bubbly white head. Head doesn't stick around long nor does it leave much lacing or any to speak of.
S: Initially comes off as smooth, kind of creamy, but the more I sniff this, it seems a bit.... off. There is definitely something super doughy & yeasty going on here, and I'm almost picking up on trace elements of liquid smoke, funk, & urine.
T: Can definitely taste the smoothness of the oats, hop juice from the excessive dry-hopping, but hardly anything else. No natural herbal / earthiness, no pine, no resin. Very under flavored, slightly acidic. It's not bad by any means, just certainly not great.
F: Again, the smooth creaminess of the oats is definitely on display, lending drinkability to this thing, but the lowly abv does nothing for this one, as does the excessive dry-hopping. I would have rather settled for a regular ass IPA.
Overall, not the worst, but certainly not a winner. Keep trying, Empyrean.
