App- It has a golden – yellow and cloudy body with half a finger of creamy white head.
Smell- There is some wheat in there, but not much else. Maybe a little bit of a slightly sweet malt. It is hard to tell.
Taste- It has an interesting mix of floral hops and some fruity notes. They are mainly citrus and apple in nature. The finish brings back a bittering hop finish, but not much else.
Mouth feel- It is more medium bodied, which again, is surprising, but good. The bitterness and bubbles make it a little harsher than it should be, but not bad.
Overall- I have no experiences with altbiers, but I really hope that this brew isn’t representative of the style. The beer itself is really not that bad, but it isn’t the type of beer I would ever ask for again. Try it if you like ESB’s and the like I suppose.
