Sundae sweets inspired us to craft this boozy treat! Our Imperial vanilla cream ale was fermented with pineapple and cherry purees and laid to rest in a mix of bourbon barrels for over a year. Boozy, sweet-vanilla and cherry greet you on the first sip with pineapple tartness, bourbon and dry oak rounding out the finish. Don't drop this gem, you might get stuck! Aged in bourbon barrels for 12 months.

Empyrean Sticky Sidewalk BBA Vanilla Imperial Cream Ale, 10% ABV. Pours deep red, with a two-finger off-white head that left great lacing. Aroma is roast malt, vanilla, fruit, and bourbon. Taste is vanilla, roast malt, bourbon, cherry, and ginger, slightly sweet, equally bitter, faintly tart, some bourbon burn. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Poured from a 16oz can into a CW snifter. Pours a very unattractive dark sun tea color with an ironically beautiful finger and a half of light khaki colored foam head. Vanilla frosting with light bourbon and some very mellow tropical fruit on the nose. Taste has a little more fruitiness to it but I’m very impressed (and highly relieved) at how tame the fruit is on this one. It’s got a lot of vanilla frosting on the taste too. There’s also some oak barrel in the finish. Medium-full mouthfeel. Perfectly carbonated. This drinks crazy easily for 10%. I’ll be honest: I expected to hate this. It is surprisingly decent and very drinkable. One of the more interesting beers I’ve had in a while.
