A very nice porter from a little known PA brewery. Aroma is very chocolatey with a slight smokiness. Taste is mostly of chocolate as well. Very good mouthfeel and drinkability. This is one of my favorite porters. Now if only I could find it more often.

An opaque, brown/black body is capped by a short but creamy light-tan head which drops to a thin collar but leaves some very nice lace. The nose is boldly chocolatey with a thin roastiness. The body is medium and very creamy due in part to a fine carbonation. Quite smooth. The flavor delivers a solid block of chocolate with a roasty edge and some light fruitiness. It finishes long and dry with a bitterness that finally asserts itself alongside some residual chocolate and dull roastiness. Overall, a very flavorful beer that delivers on character; but it's more of a knock-out blow than a flurry of well placed hits. It's enjoyable, but it really could use a little more complexity.

It pours into the glass a dark brown color that is opaque. The head is thick and beige/tan, stays for a while. Lace is present and of the same color. The aroma show hints of malt, brown sugar, and coffee and some slight hints of chocolate as it warmed. The taste is of molasses and malt in the beginning, then fades slightly into a slight coffee and chocolate. It ends with a slight bitter taste. This is a good beer for this style.

Dark opaque brown with a tan head, almost looks like a stout. A sharp malty nose, almost iron-like.
Starts with a brown sugar maltiness that fills the mouth then fades into chocolate and black coffee (in bed... Now she'sgo-o-one...) notes at the finish, with a noticable, "iron like" (can't describe it better, but not at all a bad thing - maybe a hard water kind of thing?) bitterness in the background that completes this very very likeable porter.
