The collaboration beer is affectionately called “Ebony and Ivory” by the respective brew teams, though the name doesn’t find it’s way onto the label. The style: It’s a Black White IPA. I’ll leave you to figure out it out from there.

Poured in Dec 2014 from a bomber bottle bought at the brewery in the summer of 2014. Bottle was labeled "2014 Central Texas Colaboration, RealTail, The Black White IPA".
L - Color is an extremely dark brown, just off of black. It appears clear, but no light gets through it. Head is tan colored, thick and rocky.
S - Aromas are balanced between citrusy/piney hops with an earthiness, and sweet malt with a faint roasted note. Very clean and fresh smelling, despite being about 6 months old.
T - Not as much hops in the flavors as in the aormas. The malt is bready and slightly roasted with brown sugar, molasses and chocolate notes. The hops are piney and earthy with a lingering citrus on the finish.
M - Body is moderate; a bit thin compared to the wealth of flavors. Slight lingering sweetness and a mouthcoating feel. Carbonation is creamy and mouthfilling without being harsh. Alcohol presence is restrained. Hops bitterness is high without being extreme. Overall, a restrained and sophisticated mouthfeel.
O - Overall this is a delicious beer. I have probably lost some of the hops character by waiting 6 months to drink it, but it suits me just fine with a tilt towards malt over hops.

This pours a pleasing amber-brown color with a generous layer of cottony foam that hangs around and lingers.
Of undetermined age, but I still get a lingering dank-grapefruit character on the hops from the aroma. There’s a subtle roasty edge undercutting this and it smells wonderful.
There’s a burst of piney flavor that hits from the first sip, with a little sweet citrus and a rounded finish. Whether faded or not it’s delicious.
