a barrel aged oud brown, apparently a blend of a few different base brown ale threads, and both one of the most ambitious and also one of the most delicious beers i had from these guys over the last few days. reddish brown in the glass, hazy and thick looking for its lower abv, mahogany hued, not a whole lot of head on it. aroma is quite sour, with that red wine vinegar character i often get in the style, clean though, not insanely sharp, and with some neat oak tannins and lemony citrus evident. nice malt layers in the flavor, raisins and cherries come out, dates and brown sugar, and light coca, but its relatively dry for what it is. heavy body on it, especially with it being kind of still in texture, but the flavors are awesome, and it warms up really well. actually tastes quite traditional to me, nicely executed, light vanilla and red berry to finish, port wine and oak, cola and cocoa, its delicious. perhaps a little more sour than i can drink a ton of, but they did a great job with this one!
