Crystal clear golden color with virtually no head.
The aroma was clean citruy with a slight whiff of funk.
The taste was outstanding! Nice citrus burst with oak undertones. The funk was there but in a supporting role, not in your face.
The mouthfeel was perfect, the carbonation was spot on and enhanced the other properties of the beer .
I begged to get a growler, but no way no how was that going to happen.

Poured into a sniffer
Appearance: Orange-copper with a thin lacing that faded into a ring around the side of the glass, I would assume there would be a more substantial head, but they filled all the way to the top of the glass.
Aroma: Citrus, cherries, a touch of orange with a mild oak aroma. There is not much funk, but I’m not sure if they used brett or not so that could be why.
Taste: Tart fruity flavors upfront that remind me of cherries, lemon, and apples. Slight acidic mouthfeel with an oaky finish. The oak is stronger on the finish then I remember from the last batch.
Mouthfeel: Acidic upfront with a strong oak flavored finish and lingering sourness. It has a medium-light body with medium-high carbonation.
Overall: I really like this beer a lot had was looking forward to the next release. This release was from their 5 Gallon series, it was aged in a 5 Gallon wine barrel. I’m not sure where you would find a winery that uses 5 Gallon barrels, but I guess they did.

On tap at Freetail during the bottle release of Woodicus and Bandito. One of five sours on tap.
The beer pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the wheat with some sour lemon notes mixed in. The flavor is similar, with a few other notes. I get a lot of lemon and wheat notes, but I also get some juicy tart cherries. The beer is very dry and very drinkable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice sour beer from a great brewpub.

An unexpected surprise while visiting the brewpub for the latest bottle release.
A: Pours a nice looking hazy, golden/orange color. A one finger white head forms, and fades to nothing in a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: A huge tart fruity aroma up front that is great. Apple, pears and lemons. Funky yeast, zesty spice, and a light acidic snap.
T: Follows the nose. A large tart fruity flavor. Pears, and lemons. A great dry apple cider flavor that works perfectly. There is also some acidity, that is great but never gets over the top. Everything is very clean.
M/D: A lighter, semi medium body. Though perfectly crisp, clean, and dry. Smooth at the same time. So easy to drink. All day with this one.
This is a great Wild Ale, and one of Freetail's best IMO. A wonderful tartness and dry apple cider character. I love it, well done Freetail.
