This is my favorite IPA from freetail yet. Somewhat the color of brass with perhaps a tinge of green, good head and lacing. The aroma and flavor scream out pine and citrus at every step of the way. I don't know what hops were used, but if I were to guess, I'd say cascade and simcoe. Great choices, whatever they were. The malty backbone provides a great balance, and the creamy body is a refreshing change for an IPA or IIPA.

Drinkability is off the charts. Drinks like a 6% beer.

This one is really different, and worth the effort to obtain. I'm going to make sure and get a few more bottles of it before it's all gone.

Appearance: Pours quite a murky copper with a three-fingered head that sticks like a trooper and sheets the pint glass with lace

Smell: Pithy and piney with undertones of shortbread malt

Taste: A burst of shortbread tones and then the pithy and piney hops take over, assaulting the taste buds through the middle and after the swallow; some residual sweetness lingers, but this is a hop dominant DIPA

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: The first properly carbonated bottle of my last three from Freetail, this is a very nice DIPA and probably was even better a few months ago; nicely balanced with a good blast of hops

Big thanks goes out to kjkinsey for sending this one as an extra in a very recent trade! Served from bottle into a Green Man snifter. Poured a brownish red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount very quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wood, earth, caramel, caramel hop, citrus, and subtle citrus hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, sweet alcohol, caramel hop, citrus, and wood. It had a medium feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I really liked what I found in this one in both the aroma and the flavor. There was a very good balance of hop bite with sweetness here to keep your palate alive. I was honestly surprised to find this much balance in the brew but it was definitely welcomed. Really glad I got the chance to try this one and suggest you do the same.

Bottle from the recent release sent to me by Canadianghetto. Thanks! 22oz into a tulip.

A: Pours a clear brass color with a nice egg-shell head.

S: Thick grapefruit, canteloupe, pine resin, light caramel and vanilla in the nose.

T: Resiny, melon, orange zest, slight bitterness, doughy crystal malt.

M: Medium-bodied, light carbonation.

O: This is a very nice low-bitterness DIPA with plenty of fruity hop notes.
