So as it would turn out, the world is ending. Might as well have one last beer! We're making this special Coco Guate Imperial Porter with Mayan Coffee Beans to... uh, celebrate (?) the demise of planet earth. On draft only, released on 12.21.12 in concert with our End of the World Party. In the event the world DOESN'T end, at least we'll be able to drink more the next day.

Thanks to JustXBeer for sharing this one at Retsinis' tasting.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, and chile aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and vanilla flavors on the finish. There are mild amounts of roasty bitterness and chile heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with some interesting aromas and flavors.

The beer is dark brown with a thin beige head. The aroma offers chocolate, mint, spice. Coffee is not as prevalent as the description may indicate. Large minty presence throughout. Medium bodied with moderately low carbonation. An interesting brew, though a bit unbalanced for my personal tastes. Worth a try, even if the world didn't end.
