On tap at Freetail Brewing in a pint glass.
A - Pours black with a finger and a half of creamy semi-dark brown head. Head dissipates slowly.
S - Not a strong aroma, but I pick up sweet chocolate and roasted malts.
T - This is a low-key and balanced Irish stout: a little bit of sweet chocolate with a good helping of roastiness and a bit of smoked malt. The flavor is not very complex but it is done well. I really enjoy the roasted aspect of this.
M - Moderate body with moderate carbonation. Being a dry Irish stout, this is not very thick or carbonated, but it doesn't need to be. It's very smooth and creamy while being very drinkable (especially at 4.1% abv).
O - I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Nothing overpowers, and the result is a great sweet and roasty drinkable stout. Great job Freetail!

A good looking stout, black as night with a pretty good head and lacing.
As dry Irish stouts go, this one is a champ. And at only 4.1% ABV, you can have your meal and drink it too! Very thick and bold, tons of roastiness, some burnt and toasty notes too, with ample bitterness and full body. You can't go wrong having a glass of this if you're at Freetail.
Cheers!

I'm actually surprised this beer was not already on BA. Poured into a pint glass, It pours jet black with a thin dark tan-brown head about a finger thick. The head is dense with small bubbles. The aroma is pretty generic, roasted grains and a hint of chocolate. The taste is also pretty average, roasted grains and a touch of smoked malt. I would say the beer is boring but you're asking for a dry stout so you already knew what you were getting into. As far as style goes, I would say they nailed it and its one of the better dry stouts out there. The mouthfeel is probably my favorite part. Its creamy without being thick. The finish is dry and keeps you coming back for more. Overall, I enjoy this beer but its hard to ask for it when FT has other things on tap at the same time, although I do prefer it over some of their standard beers.
