CAN:
Pink head. Dark murky red body.
Aroma is very tart, shrieking tart berries and mild sourness.
TASTE: Berry/currant. Not as tart as the aroma promised, but not sweet either. A hint of salt. Tang. Any malt backbone is neutral (probably pale malt and/or wheat malt), bending to the whims of the bacteria and berry. The berry doesn't taste entirely natural, instead skewing towards puree/syrup to its detriment. Why not brew with real berries exclusively?
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, thick, somewhat refreshing. Rarely are gosenbiere so thick...this is almost like a liquid air head, pliable with one's tongue. Surprisingly filling for a gose.
OVERALL: I don't know why they saw a need to can this in the 4x16fl oz format...definitely an anticonsumer margin maximizing maneuver. It's a drinkable gose but nothing special...I'd rather seek out Anderson Valley. Not worth the price. Fails to showcase blackberry or sage well, which seems like what they were after. A mundane but drinkable gose that won't dazzle discerning drinkers.
