On-draught @ the brewery.

Blackberry is shallow/muted. Bourbon soaked wood and barrel sugars are obvious but also shallow/depleted. Base isn't impressive...the usual dark malt sweetness, some blips of roast, ash, and char...there isn't much going on here considering it's a barrel aged imperial pastry stout.

Shallow and simple for what it is.

As drinkable as 10.2% ABV would have you think.

A bit cardboardy and limp. Not a robust imperial stout. Needs bolstering. Smooth, wet, unrefreshing. Thick yet somehow weak.

I wouldn't get it again...Old Rasputin runs $7.99 a 4 pack in this town.
