This looks good, even smells good, but is quite possibly the worst beer I’ve tasted, especially a special release IPA from NOLA, in a couple years.
An awful representation of the hop combo (I’ve had plenty of Azacca and el dorado hopped beers and they taste nothing like this) and a terrible representation of an established brewery. Do not recommend

Really interesting NEIPA. It tastes at once, smokey and a little bit Brett-y, if that makes sense. I don’t think it’s infected, but really different than what I was expecting. A nice change, but not an everyday brew.

Very different taste for an IPA. It’s a big tangent.
L: a little too pale for my preference. A sickly yellow. Very nice haze though.
S: pretty standard for an IPA with the foreshadowing of the taste. Some orange juice, plus what other reviews say.
T: like I said, it’s pretty non-traditional for an IPA but still an IPA. It’s not astringently bitter, and not floral at all. There’s a little woodiness to the bitterness, as if the malt were just lightly roasted. It’s off the beaten path but worth a try.
O: glad I tried it. It’s in my list when I want an IPA that’s a little odd.

Pours a mainly cloudy golden color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is very good as is lacing. Tropical aroma with a chemical quality at the end. Same goes with taste. Smooth Tropical flavor but taste like chemical sewage water at the end. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

16 fl oz pull-tab can:
"NE Style India Pale Ale with El Dorado & Azacca Hops." 7.9% ABV.
Doesn't stand out in the style, but it's got a nice hop profile...not dazzling, but nice. Melon, passionfruit, citrus. Some rind-like bitterness hits in its aftertaste.
C+ (3.14) / ABOVE AVERAGE
