Notes:
Original Gravity Haze is our take on the style that’s taken the craft beer scene by storm! OG holds a balance of tropical fruit aromas, juicy hop character and a soft malt body that elevates this hazy IPA into the carefully crafted realm of distinction from Driftwood Brewery. This NEIPA is unique in that we’ve chosen to brew with a clean yeast strain and allow the addition of oats and apple pectin to create viscosity and the light hazy appearance.
Original Gravity is the density and haze delivered in our quest for viscosity while the hops are the fruit that perfumes this concoction and drifts us away on a cloud.

Drank straight out of a chilled can in a park in Tokyo at dusk, so the look part is based on the packaging. Pretty slick custom lettering and I dig how the swashes turn into custom car pinstripe effects that spit out touches of berry-laden tree branches.
In regard to what’s inside the can, it has an astringent, fizzy mouthfeel that suggests a high level of carbonation. The pectin addition is novel, but without it, it’s as if this is a beer without structure. Worth examining the bones.

Pours an almost neon yellow with very small head on my pour and no lacing on the glass. Not any haze here which is surprising.
This beer smells quite nice. Hoppy but not as intense as Fat Tug and there's this light apple scent that's quite unique. Some malt character as well.
Tastes of intense hops up front and some slightly sour/tangy apple as well. It's a really weird flavour profile for an IPA but I don't hate it for sure. Some mild earthy tones but overshadowed by the apple for me. A little bit sour on the palette with tons of hop bitterness.
The mouthfeel on this is nice. Medium body, doesn't feel too light, and carbonation is very nice.
Overall this beer is cool to try but I'm not a huge fan. I love the chinook hops in here but the apple tang makes it super weird. Doesn't really hold up compared to Fat Tug and Raised by Wolves but at the same time a very cool beer in its own right.

Hazy green-gold color with fine lumps. The head quickly dropped back to a thin skiff over most of the surface. No lacing. Light stream of mixed sized bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass.
Sweet florals, mixed fruit, and some sweet-funky scent that I couldn't place. It reminds me a bit of some of the weirder candy smells of my long ago youth. Swirling the glass kicked up some peppery spice and a hint of barnyard. After that died down, there was a very pleasant floral hop scent.
Mildly bitter and sweet. Some mixed tropical fruit. A bit of light malt, like a pie crust before baking. Turns more bitter as it warms up in the mouth. The aftertaste is bitters with a bit of the fruit.
A little tongue tingling as it turns into a fine bubbled foam. Light astringency.
I was hoping for more flavor after that incredible scent. The floaty bits are a little disturbing, but no where near the worst I've seen. This could do with 30 seconds in a paint can shaker to blend that up.

Poured from a 473ml can. Best before July 30/2019.a pectin hazed NEIPA
A: pours a slightly hazy golden with a thick white head/minor lacing.
S: A very weak nose faint citrus with a whiff of hops.
T: Not a NE style taste for me at all i would say a Hazy West Coast IPA with Chinook Hops.
F: Medium body.
O: Well a ok IPA a wierd one i would say from Driftwood, one 4 pack would do me fine.
