Finally I get to be around for the BBC's first seasonal beer this year, a new entry into the brewpub's lineup, following their general English Ale approach: Chicó Brown.
However, for this seasonal, for the first time around I came out fairly disappointed.
In fact, I thought i was brought a pint of porter from the looks of it at first. Brown ales can do this also, so I didn't second-guess it. The smell was faint, some roasted malt was present but was very discreet and seemed to be a rather unamusing branch of the porter itself.
A feeling confirmed as i tasted it and, rather than getting a strong, original flavour, I thought i'd come accross a watered down version of the porter. thinner, about the same taste pattern, poorly carbonated. I think I'll stick with the classics.
honestly, it's an ok beer, just not the level I look for in the general BBC spectrum.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
