Just recently the Bogota Beer Company launched another (though not seasonal) brown ale as a mi-point between a red ale and the porter, which seemed a bit rough for the people to get used to.
I'm not a huge fan of brown ales. The pour is dark reddish with a watery transparence, a syrupy consistence and a rather small head that leaves but a bit of lacing along the sides.
The smell is hoppy above all, a slight roasted character can be felt but it's very subtle.
The taste....I was a bit let down. It's a rather watered down version of the porter, where you can feel the same roast grain feel with a hoppy end that evokes a bitter, only that this all lays beyond a curtain of water. no big tones, obviously trying to draw the crowd of unaccustomed colombians into the bigger beers.
As a bait? of course, and I would hope it works. but as my session beer I think I will continue to stick to the porter.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
