The beer pours an orange/amber color with a 1/2" white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice pale and light caramel malt scent along with a light hop aroma. The taste is decent. It has a well rounded malt bill consisting primarily of pale and light caramel malts. It goes down smooth, but finishes dry and a bit too hoppy for the style. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a fine Marzen, however, the hop character is a bit out of range.

Eye Candy: Deep brown- amber with a garnet hue. Thin head that vanished quickly. No retention, no lacing. Looks thick and syrupy.

The Nose Knows: Rich malt sweetness with a touch of chocolate to finish it off.

Tongueland: Velvety smooth. Deep, rich malts up front, chocolate towards the end, finishes with a honey-like sweetness. The syrupy sweetness takes over as it warms and it seems like the brew falls apart.

Bender Factor: It is sad that it falls apart as it warms. Otherwise, Kohlerfest would have recieved a higher rating. This rating is from the first batch which promptly vanished by October 20th. The 2nd batch is on as of October 29th. The brewer told me that it will hold up better. Cold: a solid brew that reminds me of an O-fest Flying Bison Aviator Red concotion.

Had this while in Buffalo a few weeks ago, pours a deep copper color with a light almost non-existant head, aroma was a little grainey and malty sweet.A nice rounded tasting beer a little sweetness but not overpowering to go with grainy malty taste that didnt overpower as well,I thinkone of the better brewpub Fest beers I have had a chance to have.
