on tap into a pint glass at the brewpub. the bartender told me this was a blend of their raspberry fields (raspberry stout) and there billy bonka (chocolate stout).
pours out pretty much opaque pitch black, maybe just some tiny rubiness evident when held to the light. very creamy retentive tan colored head.
the aroma is dominated by the raspberry with some chocolate syrup, brownie batter aromas right behind it. smells good, but also very artificial.
sour, slightly tart raspberry rules with just some light choco syrup flavors. very artificial. no real stout qualities, if you closed your eyes and first drank it, you might even think it had the color of a wheat beer.
medium to light in body. average feeling carbonation.
overall, a disappointing brew. it definatly could have had potential, but way to artificial and no roasted malt flavors. i wouldnt recommend this to anyone.
