Wäls Hot Petroleum = Wäls Petroleum + peppers. Coming out of a 300 ml bottle (thanks Guilherme!), on to the beer:
Black bodied and given a short head on the pour, but solid retention on top. Hot Petroleum is a welcoming change to the standard Petroleum, as the spicy sensation really changes the character and sensations of the beer. The cocoa and fudge notes are still there, the roasty malt too, but the spiciness makes the sweetness more welcoming. It's a full bodied beer with a spicy sensation and low carbonation, and the alcohol is hidden well. If comparing between the two versions, I favor the Hot Petroleum.
