Golden Pilsener is a uniquely enriching experience. Carefully brewed with Czech Saaz hops, it has an unmistakable touch of Delta Beverages style. Golden Pilsener has been brewed in Zimbabwe to the original recipe since 1985.

The golden pilsner is decent....but not spectacular. The beer poured a pale clear yellow with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is bolstered by a wet corn flare. The taste is sharp with hints of corn meal and grass. The mouhfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this is ok...it tastes alot better in country than in the U.S.

340ml bottle 3,8% Abv.
Served chilled in a Pilsener Glass.
Thanks to my mom for bringing this back for me from a recent trip to Zimbabwe.
Appearance: Light golden body with a good sized white head. The head doesn't stick around for long and leaves no lace.
Smell: Mmmmm, not bad for an African lager, much better than I expected.
Pale grain, some pleasant sweetness and an acceptable amount of grassy (Saaz) hops.
Taste: Now this is what I expected. Light, very watery and not overly pleasant. Stale grain, quite sweet, maize and almost no hop flavour or bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Light and over carbonated.
Overall: Not a dreadful African lager - there are much worse. The pleasant hops in the smell makes it acceptable.
I would still prefer to drink a Zambezi though.
