This little slice of Unterfranken sits on a ridge over-looking Bad Kissingen. The main dining hall features large windows with a great view of the town below, a set of boil kettles and glass doors leading to the fermentation room. The menu is classic Franconian, chock full of several variations of roast pig, potatoes dumplings and cabbage done in every way, shape and form. And the portions are huge for the small price-tag.
Now, on to the beer. They brew a Vollbier and a Heffeweizen year-round, as well as a Bock during the winter months. All three are brewed on the premises and are available to-go in 2 liter (about a half-gallon), swing-top growlers. Also, for a very reasonable price.
This is a great place, in a fantastic location. It's a little off the beaten path, not so much that it's impossible to find, but enough that you won't find it unless you're looking for it. And I, for one, suggest looking for it!
