Had a pint on tap at the brewery's home base restaurant, Post Road Tavern in Ogunquit, Maine.
Appearance: Poors a dark brown with moderate visible carbonation and a half-inch off-white head that hangs around for a few minutes before receding to film. Lacing is heavy.
Aroma: Smells of coffee, booziness and piny hops. Interesting mix of aromas. Smells higher in alcohol presence than it really is.
Taste: Pretty tasty brown ale. Coffee and some chocolate malts are up front, and alcohol and hops are both noticeable. I think they're going for a kind of brown ale and IPA hybrid. It works pretty well. Would drink again.
Mouthfeel: Pretty decent body. As heavy as it needs to be.
Overall: Really good brown ale from this small brewery. I don't love the use of "DUI" in the title, but maybe it's some kind of in joke. It's mighty tasty and I'd have another sometime. (Update: I later learned on the brewery website that "DUI" stands for "dark unfiltered India." That bugs me a little less.)
