Our take on a true Berliner Weiss, made using traditional lactic fermentation and “raw” no boil methods. We then added purées of passion fruit and guava for a unique twist. The end result is an infinitely interesting, sessionable ale loaded with enticing tropical fruit flavors and balanced acidity.

Picked up a 6pack of 12oz cans for $10.99
Hard pour into pint glass produces an inch of super bubbly head that quickly dissipates, no lacing
Body is slightly hazy with a light straw gold color
Aroma is sour with a touch of barnyard funk, passion fruit and guava with agitation but after settling it’s fresh cut grass mixed with llama and hay
Flavor is very tart and acidic, makes the jowls cringe up, very clean being straight to the point
Feel is refreshing and crisp, not watery for the abv but not as smooth as I’d imagined for the style but seriously crushable nonetheless
Overall I’m not a huge fan of berliners but this one is opening things up for me a bit more, definitely worth a try!

Pours a nice hazy gold, so hazy in fact I could not see light through it. Finger and a half of a nice rocky white head.
The smell is of tropical fruit juice mixed with some wheat malts.
The taste is tart and tangy sweet wheat bread. Lots of tropical fruit, tastes like pinapple and mango with other fruits like the guava come to the front. Also has a slightly salty tang to it.
Mouth is light and crisp with a tart snap to the finish.
A great refreshing brew that smells as good as it tastes and so much more. Love the slight salt and the tangy pop that this one has. Very good stuff that I may have to look for some more of.

On tap. Look is hazy and puply. In the right setting, you could make all the hazy NE IPA guys (I'm one of them) jealous. Smell is light tropical fruit, guava and passion fruit as named. Taste is very fruit forward, mostly guava. Not sweet at all, just that purée taste. Tart and salt come in nicely. Feel is rather full, probably the fruit. Maybe not totally traditional of the style. Another review noted that the piles of fruit may cover up the underlying beer and I agree, but I like the fruit. I would be happy to have this beer in my fridge any time as a nice change of pace. Maybe you could make this beer with any berliner and 2oz of guava purée but I'm find with that. Excellent beer

this is super on trend right now, but the souring is a little dirty for me, a kettle sour lacto vibe, sweaty socky in the nose, but better in the taste. if this didnt have the fruit in it to cover some of that up, im not sure how good the beer would be overall, and i am generally not a huge fan of fruit or barrels hiding flaws. that said, this is a pretty easy drinker, and the flavors all seem to be pretty cohesive, even if i am being nit picky about the souring here. the guava is behind the passion fruit in nose and taste, but the tartness of the passion fruit enhances the sourness, almost mouthwatering and puckery in the right spots to be refreshing, i appreciate that, and i like it not being too acidic overall. there is a lot of grain on this one, almost clumpy and heavy on the mouthfeel, especially for a beer thats supposed to be light and clean and refreshing, this slows it down in that capacity for me a little bit, bit its a neat deviation from the norm, and i dont dislike it being a little more substantial on the grain, this definitely isnt just straight fruit juice, which is also a personal dislike in these sours. lots of fruit in the finish, the right amount of tang, and a cleaner than it smells sort of sour flavor, along with a little orange zestiness to close. fluffy feeling, decently well carbonated, and overall about what i expected in terms of overall enjoyment. not what i think these guys do best, but a decent beer this time of year.

Pours a hazed hay color with a thumb of pearl colored head. Average head retention & lacing
S: Passion fruit fades over time
T: Passion Fruit, a little tartness, and Guava up front . A little sourness develops as this warms, along with a little dryness, & more passion fruit. Finishes a little tart with passion fruit sweetness countering & a little dryness
MF: Light/medium body, light carbonaton
Drinks very easy, was hoping for more lactic sourness, but a pretty nice variant on the style
