22oz bottle into Old Rasputin nonic pint glass. A big thanks to Rizalini for this one!
A: Pours a clear honey amber color with a billowing and very frothy light tan head that almost overflowed the glass. The dense head took forever to slowly fade into a thick rocky film that left chunks of sticky lacing down the glass.
S: Light notes of cracked grains, caramel malt, toffee and a touch of grassy hops. I get some good spritzy citrus aromas as well once the beer opens up a bit.
T: Clean flavors of citrus hops and bready malt dominate. I get a bit of lemon in the finish, and the aftertaste has a solid hop bitterness to it. This beer isn’t very complicated, but what flavor is there is clean and refreshing.
M: Medium-light body, frothy carbonation and a full mouthfeel. A bit bubbly but easy enough to drink.
O: One of the hoppier California Commons I’ve had, but luckily I love hops. It’s tough to beat Anchor Steam, but I wouldn’t mind putting down a pitcher of this with a few slices of pizza. Thanks again, Bryin.
