250 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 3.5%. Sampled half a year past BB date. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of "unfresh" malts and lemons. Sour and sweet flavour of lemons and more lemons, some malts in the background. Must be a nice summer refreshment, when fresh.

A: Copper with light haze, little carbonation, an instantly fading head of white.

S: Cider, candied lemon, Belgian tripel like yeasts, light and not overly striking in any given direction.

T: Sour, a light sweet and lemon quality, followed by acidic sour, mostly acidic and sour. Little fruit or lemon quality in particular, though lightly present. Sourness reminds me of Boulevard’s Love Child, really lemon juice sour.

M: Medium thick acidic body, little carbonation, over the top acidic finish.

O: Love this beer. So not what I expected. Over the top sour, acidic, light sweetness but so sour I get the impression they were not out to please anyone, just making an art of a beer. Will give it 8.5. Why not 10? A few incongruentcies. Reminds me slightly of a shanty, but I don’t think that’s what they were going for? The actual lemon scent and taste are not really coming through, though the sourness of lambic and or lemon surely are. A piece of art. Got at Beer Terminals, Chiang Mai, Drank Dec 15th, 2014.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing this.

A: The pour is a light yellow color with a lively carbonation and a white head.

S: Certainly lemon forward, but it's got a definite Lemon Pledge (or whatever other lemon scented cleaner you prefer) thing going on. Syrupy and yet still somewhat tart, but I guess that's a given with this being lemon flavored.

T: Luckily, the flavor is a bit better and not quite as solventy and cleaner based. Quite sour like you expect from a lemon with a sort of lemon drop candy thing going on too. Some slightly bitter lemon rinds.

M: The body is medium with a fairly aggressive level of carbonation.

D: This is kind of all over the place. I liked the flavor a fair amount, but the nose is just really off-putting.

Bottle:
Hazed gold, smallish cap, overpowering citrus aroma with a bit of muskiness.

Tastes like lemonade with a funky back taste to it.

I always maintained that lemons and beer don't mix well, this confirms it. Not one of my favorite lambic blends.

Bottle- Pours a clear gold liquid, with an average white foamy cap. The aroma is funky yeast with lemon zest, wet hay, and a metallic note. Contrary to what I was expecting, this is not a sugary cloying mess. The flavour profile is a smack of tart lemons and funky brett like flavours, with a bit of balancing sugar. Like real lemon juice and funky lambic. This is actually pretty good. The finish is quite tart and very astringent. I wouldn't be able to drink a lot of these, but this is certainly an enjoyable summer beer.

A: Pours a light yellow amber, with a small amount of white head that disappears quickly except for a small ring around the edge of the glass. A very small amount of lacing.

S: Smells like metal and vinegar. Not very inviting.

T: Holy crap. Intense lemon. It overpowers whatever other flavors are there.

M: Light carbonation, but it's close enough to drinking lemon juice that the other qualities aren't so noticeable.

D: I don't find it drinkable at all. Couldn't make it through more than a third of the 25CL bottle.

Maybe I just don't get this beer - if you want a cross between beer and lemon juice, closer to the lemon juice side of things, I guess this could be good.

A maligned and misjudged lambic. Pours a burnished gold with globs of yeast and lemon pulp in suspension. Very little head or retention. Aroma of pure lemon juice, mixed in with a bit of candied lemon peel and funk. Puckering lemonade flavour, but with complexity lurking beneath it in the guise of cider and caramel. Tart and refreshing, this certainly is a unique beer, and perhaps why it is so misjudged. Mouthfeel is medium-light with light carbonation, which I judge to be a great fit for the beer's refreshing qualities.

I liked it. Heck, I'd even consider buying a couple more and sticking them away for a bit. It reminds me very much of a palate cleanser, and I'm glad they made it. People will disagree with me though...

A: Gold with clumps of yeast floating about, thin white head, no retention, leaves a hint of leg.

S: Horsey, barnyard, grass, lemon & toffee.

T: Very tart (puckering), plenty of lemon, slight funk, tropical fruit, marmalade, toffee.

M: Light body has some residual sweetness, though it's quite tart.

D: It could quench a summer thirst.

This beer was pouring a copper colour until several large chunks of yeast near the end of the pour sullied the whole glass with a lot of suspended jellyfish-like pulp. After allowing some time for the whole mess to settle, the beer took on a more tangerine or pink grapefruit hue while remaining quite murky with funky pulp.

Smell was intense sour fruit, suggestive of citric acid. That carried over to the taste which can only be described as very tart with unpleasant sourness. Very harsh and abrupt, no sign of bitter or malt, this is all sour overripe lemon and not a very good job of it. As for mouthfeel, "sucking a lemon" would be a compliment. After carefully tippling the top half of the glass, I couldn't finish the rest. I'm sure the rest of the Chapeau series is better than this.

Pours a dirty golden with almost no head, sort of looks like cider?

Smells like lemons-who would of geussed?

Tastes extremely sour, sort of winey, yeasty and some other dried fruits also. It also seems a bit chemically.

A mouthfeel that has bite, that's for sure.

Not a very drinkable beer at all, in fact I could barely finish it, way too sour.

Bottle: Poured a golden color beer with a small bubby head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of tart notes with huge lemon syrup which I don't really know what to make of. Taste consists of huge lemony syrup which is nothing close to actual lemon with some light tart notes. Zit is a weird experiment after all and one that could have provided worse results. Totally untraditional but somewhat drinkable afterall.

A - Slight haze in a yellow liquid. Head is small on a hard pour.

S - Very odd aroma. Lemons, weird chemically smell, herbs, and some funk.

T - Wow. now THAT is sour. Guess that's what you get when you put lemons in a lambic... My god. Slightly sweet I think, and lemons up the wazoo. Hint of chalk/earthiness in the back end.

M - Uh.. Sour. Is that a mouthfeel.

D - If you like lemons this is for you. I for one couldn't really taste much beyond that. OTOH, the label says lemons and lemons are delivered. I won't be drinking this again though.

Chapeau has a long line of these fruity (beers), some work some don't.

This one is decent enough, but its almost worth considering drinking over ice as its got a extreme lemon bite and could stand to be cut some. Fruit comes through powerfully, the beer is there in the background, but it almost overwhelmed by the tartness of lemon.

A summer patio beer, approach with an open mind.
