Served from a growler into a tulip glass. The beer pours a deep amber/red color wtih a head that falls to coat the beer. The nose is sweet caramel drizzled over hay and straw. Very grainey. The flavor is nice. There is a really grainey character in there, but it is balanced with caramel sweetness from the malt and a nice mellow bitter on the finish. Nice and complex. The feel is moderate to thick with a light carbonation. Good balance. Drinkability is good as well. Overall, this is a nice beer. Who would have thought something like this coming from West Virginia (I kid...I kid).

Had this at the brewery and brought home a growler. Definately my favorite among what was available that day. Pours a dark amber color with a moderate head, slight retention, and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is very sweet caramel with some floral and citrus hops. The flavor is more sweet than I would normally prefer, but somehow this one struck me nicely as the sweetness is balanced with the malts and hops really well. Mouthfeel is very nice for the style and drinkability is good. This was their winter seasonal ... but I'm not sure it would be my choice for a winter brew. Still very nice.

Appearance: A vibrant glowing amber hue forms nice with a light caramel tan head leaves nice laicng throughout. Aroma: Relatively hoppy nice herbal and touch of citrus comes around caramel toasty malts ties it all together not bad. Taste: Very enjoyable the herbal hop profile does this beer much justice clean flavor nice biscuit malts with a touch of caramel malts to form the malt backbone very sessionable amber ale. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied light and airy carbonation very smooth going down. Drinkability: Highly recommend this brew not an eye opener just a solid version with some hops.
