Pours medium, copper with a one finger, lasting head. Lacing is clearly evident and left behind....something usually not experienced in their beer.
Smell is a wonderful blend, of citrus, bourbon and oak. Grapefruit soaked whiskey comes to mind in both the nose and taste.
Very citrusy, mild bourbon and oak notes dance on the palate.
Glad I got to try this one.
Very nice beer.

This is Ned's Pale Ale aged for several months in a bourbon barrel.

It pours the usual keep copper/amber color, and it has a lot of very nice head and good lacing. Great scent, lightly floral and hoppy with a nice headiness to it. Excellent taste, I agree with the previous reviewer, probably the best beer I've had at the brewpub in terms of taste; it has a great American hop flavor, very floral with slight citrus tones, with enough malt to keep it from going over board. It's also extremely smooth and very drinkable. Fantastic!

Nutshell review: Probably the best beer to ever come out of WVBC.

On tap at the brewpub, plus a growler to take home. This is a bourbon barrel-aged version of the old standby Ned's Pale Ale. Pours golden-red amber with amber tinted head. Good head structure, fluffy yet solid, and good lacing.

Smell is citrus and piny hops with some vanilla and slight charred wood. Nice.

Taste: All the hoppy goodness of regular Ned's with the bite moderated by a slight whisky maltiness. Deeper in flavor than regular, with a taste that hits more of the back of the mouth and throat than the up-front I usually associate with Ned's pale. Maltiness asserts itself near the end,

Mouthfeel a bit tart at times but overall quite enjoyable. There's an unusual warmness to the finish, almost like a bourbon or scotch effect. Still, it's Very Drinkable.

Don't know how long this'll be available, but if you're in Morgantown, this one alone is worth a stop at the ol' brewpub.
