Served a sparkling copper color with a nice tan head. The aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is strong on the malt with a definite sweetness, but then a conflicting bitter hoppiness and an astringent huskiness kicks in and won't let the malt work it's magic. The mouthfeel seems a bit thin, and the weird flavors hurt the drinkability. This is about as good as a supermodel with a beer belly. I don't expect greatness from WVBC (but would be pleased to find it!), but I was a little disappointed with this one.

Appears a vibrant ruby hue with a tawny white head, and this beer contains absolutely no lace as the decent sized head begins to diminish. The aroma is very mild with a predominate sweetness leaving this beer a bit one dimensional. There is a very delicate hop aroma lingering in the background, but this is characteristic of the style. A nice tame malted barley sweet profile spliced with some mild bittering hops to balance the sweetness, but for the most part this bock is a malty treat. There are also some faint fruit tones in the background along with a nice kick of alcohol for a WV brewpub (considering the law only allows up to 6% ABV) to warm me up. The only problem is overall this beer is lacking in flavor forming an watered down. Light bodied for the style but overall a nicely constructed beer that is very drinkable and after a couple of these this beer will bring one some joy.
