Dark caramel look with creamy lace. Tastes of chocolate and caramel. Very smoothe and tasty.

On tap in Blacksburg
A- pours a maroon color with a small creamy white head, short retention but leaves some lacing behind as it settles
S- some toasted cereal grain, a touch of sweet caramel malt, woodsy, overall pretty faint
T- sweet caramel flavors up front with some dark fruit notes, a bit bready, sweet finish with more caramel. Overall pretty light on the flavor
M- medium body and carbonation, foamy mouthfeel
O- non-offensive and pretty light for the style. Not the best choice for a craft drinker but would suit the light lager drinking crowd

First had: on tap at the Blacksburg pub
Reddish-brown pour, clear, with a small layer of off-white bubbles on top. Basic aroma of caramel malts and not much else. Taste was, again, basic, no surprises, caramel malts, nutty, toasted grains. Not bad, not great. Light-medium body, average carb, standard stuff all around.

Poured from a growler into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a dark red with a small white head that dissipates quickly but leaves some lacing. Smells of some dark roasted malt and slight nuttiness, but nothing strong. Tastes of dark roasted malt with little bits of nuts and very slight hop bite. Beer is carbonated correctly and for its light body goes down smooth as it should. Overall, a slightly above average beer.
