A slightly hazy amber color with a modest white cap that fades to a frosting quickly and very solid streaks of lacing. The aroma is very mild, bread/biscuit malt, a bit weak but it hints at some herbal hop. The taste jumps out with a happy dose of the herbal hop bitterness, a bit dry to the tongue, a good blend of sweet bread malt. The sweetness can be a little heavy but the bitterness, at 71 ibu, keeps it reasonable. Very pleasantly carbonated with a somewhat viscous feel for a relatively crisp ipa. Drinkable enough for a relatively high octane and high ibu ipa, definitely manageable and a respectable effort at an ipa. Too bad it's seasonal only, soon to part until next year. The best of the three brews I had this nmight at this nice new brewpub in the Virginia Tech playground at Blacksburgh.
