From notes on 11/12/11:
Had on-tap; Poured in a Bull&Bones pint glass.
A - Straw color with a dark copper tint; Cloudy, but bright appearance; Thin layer of head that disappears fast; Very minial lacing
S - Not a strong smell - had to focus to find it; Some sweet malts and some cinnamon and nutmeg spices detected
T - Up front, there are flavors of subtle pumpkin with a tad more cinnamon and nutmeg spices; Light and sweet malt presence as well; Finishes much lighter than expected with hints of cloves
M - Very crisp and light bodied with tons of carbonation; Pretty clean finish; Nice and smooth
O - Overall, this is a nice and refreshing beer that's easy to drink. The flavor was solid, but seemed to stray from the Oktoberfest style more than I expected. The crisp mouthfeel and light spice and pumpkin followed the style, but the appearance, light feel and distinct cloves reminded me more of a hefeweizen. That said, this beer still quenched my thirst and does the trick if you want a Marzen that's very light with a touch of pumpkin as well.
