A. Appears black somewhat thin, some velvety white head
S: roasted barley up front, coffee and chocolate
T: matches nose, very heavy on roasted malts, reminds me of an export stout
MF: thin for style, medium carb
D: easy drinking imp stout, a little light for style, reminds me more of an export stout (kind of like fade to black) than an imperial stout due to its focus on roasted notes and lack of sweet malts coming through

8 oz tap pour into an American Tumbler at the Water Street Brewery in Milwaukee.
A - Totally inky black with a thick chocolate head with decent retention and little bits of lacing left over.
S - Lots of roasted malts with a hint of molasses, chocolate, and dry cocoa flavor.
T - Lots of roasted malts with a mild burnt coffee flavor and a low molasses hint. Not bad but not as rich as an Imperial Stout should be.
M - Medium-full bodied and a slight bit chewy with a mild dry finish and a hint of roasty bitterness.
D - Pretty solid for an Imperial Stout. Lacking a really robust, complex flavor, but one of their better beers!
