Another solid beer from the Y/Y. This beer will pair well with many menu items. It's soft chocolate and orange zest complement meats and veggies, not to mention the sauces.
A dark brown pour, but doesn't look at that thick. Poured to the rim, head is lost. Nice lacing.
Orange zest is apparent at first sniff. Some floral spice as well. Chocolate is light, but adds a richness to the beer
Chocolate is the first flavor through the palate. It's not thick or clingy, somewhat sweet. The orange and flower are intriguing and last just long enough to appreciate them. Not a powerfully flavorful beer, and quite light for a porter. So much the better to eat more goodness.
Had this with chicken tikka masala and it went well.
