Had this 1/4/2018 at the tap room. Had characteristic 2-3 SRM yellow appearance with excellent clarity. Aroma of fresh Pilsner grain - light bread and barley with some cracker and honey. Flavor mimicked aroma with an artful, deft balance between light hop influence (low bitterness and light herbal/noble taste) and assertive and expressive Pilsner malt flavor - medium complexity of light bread, fresh grain, hint of honey - not over-the-top and also not flat or pedestrian. Medium-light mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Really a very good example of the style...well done Metropolitan. Golf clap.

Draft at the brewery, served in a small .25L Wilibecher glass.
Pale bright straw gold, perfect clarity, saturated color. Compact dense head, drippy lacing that sticks in the glass.
Aroma is bready and biscuity, some faint malt sweetness but it's also fairly restrained.
Taste is similarly malt forward with light notes of doughy biscuit. Finishes crisp and dry with snappy carbonation.
Overall this is very light and sessionable, but doesn't sacrifice flavor. A solid year-round "beer-flavored beer".
