Collaboration with Scorched Tundra.
We brew Humbucker Dortmunder to be hoppier than our usual lager line-up to balance the Earthy minerality of the water, and the sweetly dry Vienna and Munich malts. Each hop addition is critical and unique, coming together to render a result greater than the sum of its parts. Early addition Horizon hops grants the beer a clean, purposeful bitterness. Middle addition Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops are chosen for their prominent herbal hop flavor. The beer finishes with an artful, subtle spice compliments of Liberty and Santiam hops.

Pours a pale gold, monstrous frothy white head leaves an beautifully laced glass.
Smells of grain, bread and some hops. Bread and grain dominate the taste. Thin body, mild carbonation. I am surprised how much I liked this beer. Everything I've tried from Metropolitan has been a pleasure.

"Best by 10/9/21"; drank 7/11/21 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.
A violent pour yielded a nice eggshell head; frothy lace.
Creamed corn, hop bitterness & dry wheat notes in the nose.
Thin mouthfeel.
Corn & faint caramel flavors up front; lager yeast & mild dry wheat notes on the finish.
This bordered a bit on American Adjunct Lager / macro vibes to me; it's better than a Coors light, but isn't that different, in my humble opinion. Not one I'll return to.

Taste: crisp, floral, earth herbal and slight grassy notes, bright semi sweet malts. Same with the nose. Golden hue, mostly clear, with a white head and lacy foam. Medium/light body. Good to start the day with. 28 IBUs

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf at Binnys in Naperville IL location. It poured a clear golden with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with faint saaz hop profile. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Mostly clear dark golden body with a solid finger of pearl white foam. Smell and taste are the same: toasty grains and malts with vibrant yeast and a character defining herbal hop finish with a hint of dankness when paired with the graininess of the beer. Body could be a touch more vibrant, but good graininess and chewy malts, generally more toasty for style but it works, a midwest version.
