Italy is not necessary known for their beer history but this Hefeweizen is not too bad.
It is in the line with other Hefewizen from Bavaria (Paulaner, Schneider, ...) but not outstanding. According to the San Gabriel web site the founder studied his brewer trade in Bavaria and Austria and is following the old beer receipes after the German Purity law.
It poors with a dark yellow color and has the typical white foamy head of a hefeweizen.
Taste it fruity, little bit banana and leaves a bubbly champagner taste in the finish.
I purchased it at my local Wholefoods at $6.99 and expected something special for that price.
No question the beer is good but I can buy a Paulaner Hefewizen for $2.39 at BEVMO.

Golden yellow color, lightly veiled. A white and creamy head, quite carbonated, thin bubbles.
In the smell banana, some yeast, and bread crust.
At the taste bread crust, very few cloves, and a very light banana.
All weizen standard notes, yes, but this beer is in the average group.
Drinkable, but not a beer you can remember.
