I tried this on tap at the Detroit Fall Beer Festival. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but unfortunately it was completely undrinkable. There was a distinctive and entirely unpleasant flavor that tasted like rotting vegetation. Which is a shame, because it smelled fairly pleasant.
A: Hazy amber. A beer like this should have high clarity.
S: Fall smells - spice and roasted nuts. Malt. Pleasant.
T: Generally follows nose, except for that rotten vegetation flavor. It's hard to pin down, but it's very unwelcome.
M: Medium body and carbonation.
O: So overall this could have been an enjoyable if unexceptional Oktoberfest offering, if not for that flavor. I'll have to try it again sometime to see if it was just this batch.
