Our Trippel has always been a big, beautiful Belgian-style ale, but in 2015, we tweaked the recipe to include a new yeast variety and even more complex malt profile. This golden beer opens with a bold blast of spicy Noble hops, courtesy of Saaz and Hallertau Mittlefruh, and gives way to the fruity aromas offered by our traditional Belgian yeast. Brewed with Pilsner and Munich malts, Trippel is classically smooth and complex, and sings with a high-note of sweet citrus before a pleasantly dry finish delivers a warm, strong boozy bite. Give Trippel a sip to get you smiling.

Not what I expected. I get a lot of coriander spice & some banana. ABV of 8.5% is well disguised. Enjoyable but I’m unlikely to seek out.

From the just beyond the best before date bottle, it pours a hazy light amber color with a very nice white head that diminishes and leaves lacing. The nose gets a sweet scent of malt with some spice. The mouth gets a sweetish malt flavor that is a bit boozy, but in a nice way and a mild aftertaste that lingers a bit.

Its an American version of a Belgian Trippel.Weighs in at 8.5% for (2026) $12.00/6pack.Can't beat that price.
Its more carbonated than I would like.Color is golden with a finger of lacing.Smell bubblegum big-time and some spiciness.Taste is pleasant, but just a sharper note to it;not as smooth as a real Belgian. The booze is very evident, that is really what distracts you(New Belgium really can't disguise the booziness of any of their beer). The mouthfeel is carbonated, sharp, boozy, and spicy.
All that said, and I know its kinda negative;but I like this.New Belgium gives you the basic flavor and aroma of a Belgium, for the price of an American craft beer. That's a win in my book.I drink this often.

A good trippel but missing a little character, not sour enough, not fragrant enough but very smooth with a good head and lacing and wonderful color. It is like they are playing it safe and lose some points because of it. Still a very good beer.

Poured into a tulip.
Pours crystal clear light gold. Limited head. What lacing there is clears fairly quickly.
Grassy/herbal hop fairly forward, especially as the brew warms. Modest citrus aromas, along with some herbal/peppery yeast notes.
Tart citrus and fruity esters meld with white pepper and grassy hops.
Medium bodied with a remarkably drying finish at the ABV.

12 oz. bottle. Poured an unfiltered hazy golden color with a frothy white head. Tasted notes of sweet citrus, spice, fruity esters, Belgian yeast, with a dry finish. Lively carbonation, medium body. Overall, one of my favorite easy to get USA trippels.

A gold pour from a bottle to a beer glass.
An enjoyable malt profile with a Belgian yeast and fruitiness, soft banana and a mild hops finish. The 8.5% ABV seems surprisingly subdued amidst the mild flavors.
An enjoyable Belgian style Ale.

WOW! I didnt have high hopes for this beer when I purchased the 6 pack. The taste is nutty, sweet bread, and banana. Same as the smell. This beer is damn good!

My favorite beer is Chimay Red. I dont drink it often so it maintains its special ness to me. I saw this at my local ralphs a couple months ago, i took a six pack home, because what the hell. I was pleasantly surprised. In going to drink this as my daily driver beer, replacing modelo. HELL YEAH

From a Costco variety pack. Good banana, yeast, and typical aromas of this style. No off taste. Unremarkable but typical of the style and drinkable. Belongs in Costco.

12 oz can from variety pack pours a clear golden color with frothy white head and some lacing. Aroma has bread, lemon, coriander, caramel and some fruit. Taste is malty sweet at first with a dry hoppy finish. Body is light to medium with average carbonation. Alcohol is well-hidden. This one exceeded my expectations
