Glütiny Pale Ale is brewed using an enzyme to break down the proteins that trigger a reaction from gluten sensitive drinkers. Therefore, these beers are being referred to as “gluten removed” instead of gluten free. The beers fall within the FDA guidelines of less than 20 parts per million.

New Belgium Glütiny Pale Ale features Equinox hops, for flavors of guava and papaya.

The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a clear dark amber or copper color with a 3/4" off-white head that leaves a small and large ring of lacing and that eventually forms a large irregular island on the surface of the liquid which lasts for most of the beer. Sipping breaks up the rings into some interesting small patches, legs and a spider web of lacing.

The aromas include some pine, some grapefruit zest and some supporting malt to smooth them out.

As expected from the nose the flavors include the light pine, some gentle grapefruit zest and a bit of malt malt and malt sweetness to counterbalance the bitterness. There's also seems to be a touch of spiciness from the hops.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied with a light crispness. The medium length finish begins as everything begin to fade but the malt and hop flavors seem to be moving back and forth on and off center stage until all that's left is some bitter dryness on the back of the palate.

This is a reasonably good Pale Ale with lots of flavor that is light rather than intense and I'd willingly have another if offered. That said I'll not be seeking out another, if only because there are other, more local, APAs that are higher on my list.

LOOK: Pours bright, clear light gold with a slight amber tint and a slightly off white head.
AROMA: Light lemon scent along with a little orange rind.
TASTE: The citrus flavor I get the most is mango. Some sweet bread malts. Somewhat tart at the finish
I enjoyed this offering.

Hops with some malt make up most of aroma. Theres some mild citrus, grain ,hay, funk
Taste really follows the nose with a hop bite balanced by malt. Bitterness lingers for a while in the aftertaste and takes over a bit.
Overall it's a safe bet but not something I would seek out
