First off this weird and cool at the same time. Color is a pale golden. Aroma is very faint, you can detect both the peppers and sour notes. Flavor is crazy. It's sour and hot at the same time. The flavor keeps bouncing back and forth between sour /hot but one does not dominate. Finish is clean and slightly acidic but overall this is a unique brew. Definitely worth trying.

"Beers with Vrienden" collaboration with Fat Head's, described as an ale brewed with lime peel, lemongrass and habanero.
Judging by the name, I thought this was going to be a smoked sour. On the contrary, I have the pleasure of this being my first "spicy" sour. I'm not sure if anything like this has ever been done before.
Pours clear yellow, with an unusual head of random foam and bubbles, like an artisinal pizza crust.
On the nose is a bit of tart apple and funk. The flavor of apple picks up on the tongue and then a spicy kick rounds out the profile gently before swallowing.
Unlike Habanero Sculpin, this doesn't kick in and build and build after your first swallow. The heat is primarily in the swirling, and it's a nice, drinkable spice. Detectable, but not off-putting.
Really well done.
