Definitely different than the smoldering sour. When I first saw this on the tap list at Hoppin' Frog I was a little perturbed as I thought maybe I had created and rated the wrong brew previously. However I guess they collaborated for two different brews.
This session IPA pours a light yellow, with a moderate head, and a much stronger heat on the nose than the sour.
Flavor wise, I get a lot of crackery malts up front. The habanero kicks in soon after, but thankfully is not too hot. Hops contribute to balance out the malts fairly well, and the lime is only in the background a smidge to help keep the hops in line.
Interesting, but nothing like the sour. That sour is fantastic.
