Labor of Love is a Collaboration between New Belgium Brewing and City Beer Store in San Francisco. In honor of City Beer Store's 10 year anniversary.
Craig journeyed to Colorado with the inspiration to create a tribute beer to New Belgium, the first American explorers of sour ale. During talks and tastings he learned that all the sours in New Belgium's Lips of Faith program are born from two base beers: Oscar and Felix. While tasting the barrels, the Felix spoke the strongest to us; it felt like this was a blend we should explore for the collaboration. Turns out New Belgium had NEVER before created a blend of Felix alone. This was a golden opportunity to showcase a remarkable beer brewed by a remarkable sour house, the first of it's kind by New Belgium.
