this was brewed for the treefort music festival here in boise apparently, and given that the event was back in march, this probably shouldnt still be on tap anywhere. it was faded already when i had it, and really is probably a shadow of its original self at this point, being a west coast ipa that appears to have relied pretty heavily on the dry hopping to define this one. its not bad, its just tired and boring to me, without anything unique in the hop profile to set it apart, and even a little oxidation from the tap now, which doesnt seem right. its golden and frothy and looks nice, and it hints at peach and nectarine in terms of juicy fruitiness. it has some malt sweetness running through it even though its quite pale, and finishes without as much bitterness as i like in a classically styled ipa, it never really finishes. it has potential, but like a lot of new belgium stuff lately, this one just sort of middles and gets lost in the crowded style. lackluster now, but ill give it a break as it was probably radically better when it was first released. maybe ill be able to try it fresh next time around!
