Enjoy by date - 18 Dec 2022 XIPA7 on bottom of can; purchased in a 12 can hoppy pack. Pours a lucid yellow straw color into a standard pint glass with a white finger high head that disappears quickly and leave slight lacing. Aroma is of tangerines, orange and a little pine. Taste is juicy with very mild bitterness and an aftertaste that is a little off, but none the less enjoyable, (not really round but neither overly bitter, kind of sits mid-palate; balanced?). It is light to medium in body with visibly light carbonation throughout. At 6.6% ABV is not as "heavy" as other iterations of the Voodoo Ranger line. Good drinking brew.

Nice unfiltered look, smells like stinkweed, lemon and pineapple - STRONG. The best of these Xperimentals that I've had so far, no off flavor, not too bitter, just sweet malt and pungent dank tropical fruit tasting hop

2022 Voodoo Ranger Hoppy Pack 07 - 12 pack
12 oz. can dated 220701 (07/01/22) - 6.6% ABV / 50 IBU?
Brewed and canned in Fort Collins, CO or Asheville, NC
Poured into a Bell's branded pub pint glass

Look - Pours a thick and dense off-white head that leaves some nice lacing. Clear, golden amber appearance with a small amount of floating bubbles.
Smell - Getting a lot of tangerine and mandarin orange citrus in the scent with some faint pineapple and peach.
Taste - The taste has more of a coconut flavor that really dominates. The flavors overall are really muted. Zero bitterness.
Feel - Thin to medium bodied with a chalky and somewhat crisp mouthfeel and finishes slightly dry.
Overall - The thin taste and chalky mouthfeel makes this one pretty underwhelming.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of sweet fruits, subtle pine notes, toasted bread and caramel. Sweet fruity taste with toasted caramel and a mild bitterness.

Notes via stream of consciousness: So what do we know about Voodoo Ranger Xperimental IPA #7? There's nothing on the label except that it's 6.6% ABV. It's poured a clear golden body beneath a full head of white foam. The aroma expresses passionfruit, lychee in syrup, orange, and some sweet red berries. The flavor is similar. It's sweetish and juicy with a light tartness. I'm getting orange, lime, and a bit of woodiness as well. It's more like Cedar than oak, and it's not just a general kind of woodiness. What's that hop that tastes like cedar and coconut? ... ... ... ... Well, that took a while to look up; I couldn't remember - it's Sabro, a hop that I generally find very wierd unless it's used moderately and that seems to be the case here. The malt is basic and golden, and just lightly grainy and sweet. It comes off more like sugar than bread. Back to the hops, I think I'm tricking myself now into thinking that I'm tasting coconut. It seems more like sweet cream to me. Maybe I'm wrong but the more it warms up the more it seems like coconut, and now there's a light mint note to it that completes the Sabro trifecta so it must be Sabro. There might be other hops in there (maybe Mosaic), I don't know, but I'm going with Sabro, and this time around I don't find it weird. Ahhh, I'm getting a ton more orange now as well. This thing really changes as it warms. It's sweetish but it's also got a balancing bitterness and it finishes mainly dry. Unlike other Sabro hopped beers that I've tried I'm not getting a whole lot lingering in the finish, which is actually nice as I find the cedar and mint thing to be quite drying. What I get is a dollop of fruitiness that includes orange and lychee in syrup. The head held up well, as usual, and it's left some very nice lacing about the glass. In the mouth it's medium in body and remarkably smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation considering that this isn't a hazy wheat and oat beer. In the end I kind of see this as more of a pale ale than an IPA but that's just my opinion, and it is still 6.6% ABV which tops most American pale ales. I've enjoyed it so much that I'm going to have another one!

12oz can dated best before August.

Pours clear yellow with a half inch head of white. Moderate retention and lacing. Melon and papaya in the nose. Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. A bit juicy on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Light peach, and melon. Finishes fairly dry with some lingering citrus.
