On tap at the 2013 Firestone Walker Invitational held at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, CA.
Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour and tart with peach, apricot, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with peach and slight whiskey flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but has a slightly better smell in my opinion.

"Prickly Passion Saison in a peach whiskey barrel with sour Felix aged for 5 months."
Served from tap into a Raleigh Rare & Vintage Beer Tasting snifter. Poured yellow-orange with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, sour, tart, wood, fruit, and subtle funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, tart, sour, funk, peach, and wood. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. I really enjoyed the sour/tart twist that the Felix gave this one. It helped to make all aspects of this brew more enjoyable if you ask me. As far as the Prickly Passion, it was definitely lost in the midst of the Felix which is why I listed this as a Wild Ale. A really well thoughtout brew that I would not hesitate to have again given the opportunity. Tick.
