According to the owner and head brewer, Eric Beaton, this is not THE Creekside Pale Ale. It is merely A pale ale, which he dubbed 'Creekside Opening Pale' (when we asked him tonight). The recipe for this pale ale will be tinkered with, and may never be set in stone. It sounds like all of Eric's beers will be original recipes that are subject to change.
Appearance: Clear orange-amber body with tight, sticky, white head on top. Head is initially 1/4 inch in height, but eventually dissipates to a sticky halo. Impressive lacing. Looks very nice for a pale.
Smell: Very floral and citrusy; grapefruit, orange, and herbal hops. Slightly spicy and quite balanced with a good dosage of doughy malts.
Taste: Zach and I were both very impressed by the taste of this one. Starts out with some doughy malts and a touch of caramel. Transgresses into some big citrus flavors (specifically grapefruit and orange), and then finishes with floral hops. Hop character is pronounced and very herbal. Tastes... natural.
Mouthfeel: Carbonation is perfect: gives the beer that nice, active, velvety characteristic. Medium-bodied. Good mouth coating. Finishes a bit on the dry side.
Drinkability: I'll be going back here just to get a few more pints of this. I love the citrus and herbal hop notes, and the balance is pretty darn good. Goes down easily... and quickly.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
